The National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) collects case-level information on youth in care including the services paid for or provided by the State agencies that administer CFCIP, as well as the outcome information on youth who have aged out of care.

What that means is that all the information from the different databases are compiled into one resource!

Youth transitioning out of foster care can participate in an Individual Development Account (IDA) & have saved money matched up to $1,000 when they save for assets like a car, a business, a house, investments, etc.

What that means is that by participating in this program, I can double my money!

COE is an annual state-wide event that honors foster youth who will graduate from high school, vocational school, GED programs & colleges. These youth made great strides by overcoming educational barriers in order to attain success in their academic endeavors.

What that means is that we are able to celebrate our educational attainements in style!

HEI is an annual conference that preludes COE. It is for current and former foster youth who have graduated from high school or college. The Higher Education Institute focuses on providing workshops and resources to youth who are transitioning into adulthood.

What that means is that we get together once a year, statewide, and learn and have fun!

Being a foster family is a special kind of job with many responsibilities. Acceptance, support and nurturing are critical when you deal with special youth. There is a variety of training and support available to foster parents of youth preparing to age out of foster care.

What that means is that we can benefit when our foster parents have a wealth of materials and resources to help us build life skills and to prepare us to live on our own!

There are a number of resources on the ILP website which will help youth as they transition into self-sufficiency.
